Annual Pilgrimage for the Seas Services

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, MD welcomed visitors on October 5 for its annual Pilgrimage for the Sea Services. The event is held each year to honor Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton as Patroness of the Sea Services and ask for her intercession for all the men and women serving in our nation’s Sea Services.

Visitors joined members of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, the U.S. Public Health Service, along with family members and friends, and hundreds of others for the Mass and reception. This year Bishop Coyle was the principle celebrant. The U.S. Naval Academy Catholic Choir provided music and the Military Ceremonial Honor Guard from Washington, D.C. presented the Colors with an Honor Guard from the Knights of Columbus.
