Bishop Higgins Celebrates 50 Years of Priesthood

On March 9, Bishop Higgins celebrated the golden anniversary of his priestly ordination. Bishop Higgins was ordained a priest on March 9, 1968, in the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. He is responsible for more than 210 Catholic chaplains in 153 VA Medical Centers throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam. Bishop Higgins also serves as the Bishop Protector for the eight-thousand members of the Catholic War Veterans of America and currently assists Archbishop Broglio in serving the installations in the Eastern Vicariate of the AMS.
