  • January 1st (Sunday) – Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God – Whenever the Solemnity of Mary falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.
  • May 21st (Sunday) – Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord – In the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated on the Sunday preceding the solemnity of Pentecost (May 28, 2023).
  • August 15th (Tuesday) – Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Whenever the Solemnityof the Assumption falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.
  • November 1st (Wednesday) – Solemnity of All Saints
  • December 8th (Friday) – Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patronal Feast of the United States of America.
  • December 25th (Monday) – Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord

 

2024

  • January 1st (Monday) – Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God – This year the Solemnity of Mary falls on a Monday. Whenever the Solemnity falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.
  • May 12th (Sunday) – Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord – In the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated on the Sunday preceding the solemnity of Pentecost (May 19, 2024).
  • August 15th (Thursday) – Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – This year the Solemnity of the Assumption falls on a Thursday. Whenever the Solemnity falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.
  • November 1st (Friday) – Solemnity of All Saints
  • December 9th (Monday) – Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patronal Feast of the United States of America. – Since December 8, 2024 is the Second Sunday of Advent, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is transferred to Monday, December 9. The obligation to attend Mass, however, does not transfer.
  • December 25th (Wednesday) – Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord
