USCCB Pro-Life Committee motto: "Made in
His Image" 15
July 2004
This year, the United Stated Conference of Catholic
Bishops (USCCB) Pro-Life
Committee has taken as its motto: "Made in His Image." Because
God created
human beings in His own image, each of us has a unique dignity.
"Of all
visible creatures only man is able to know and love his creator
—for he
alone is called to share by knowledge and love, in God's
own life. It was for
this end that he was created, and this is the fundamental reason
for his
dignity." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 356).
