AMS policy on sexual abuse of a minor

The Archdiocese for the Military Services cooperates fully with the diocese of incardination or religious superior and with appropriate military and civilian law enforcement. Any misconduct complaints of sexual abuse against a priest chaplain or deacon will be referred to the diocese of incardination or religious superior for appropriate ecclesiastical action and to appropriate military or civilian law enforcement authorities. Any allegation of sexual abuse of a minor (or any other form of sexual abuse) by any cleric, employee, or volunteer serving in the Archdiocese should be reported immediately in writing to the Archbishop or to the Vicar General at P.O. Box 4469, Washington, DC 20017-0469 or via email. The person making the report is requested to provide the following information:

a. the name of the alleged violator,
b. the name or names of the alleged victims,
c. the relevant times dates and location of the alleged abuse,
d. the setting in which the abuse occurred and its specific nature, and
e. names, addresses and telephone numbers of the accused, accuser and other persons who may have knowledge.

The Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) provides assistance to anyone who, as a minor, was sexually abused by a priest, deacon or employee of the Archdiocese. Parents, guardians, children and survivors of sexual abuse are invited and encouraged to contact AMS for more information about this program.
