WASHINGTON, D.C. Through a unique partnership between the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS), John Angotti Music Mission (JAMM), Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN), and UpWord Studios, Inc. ( ), this year’s “John Angotti and Friends” Family Concert will be live streamed at 7:00 p.m. CST on Dec. 15 from The Cannon Center in Memphis, Tenn. to U.S. military bases around the world.

Performances will include featured headliner John Angotti and his band, as well as the St. Benedict at Auburndale High School Show Choir, the Voices of St. Augustine Choir, and others.

UpWord Studios, Inc. is making the live stream production and technology available for the U.S. service men and women deployed worldwide who will be away from their families this Christmas season.

His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the Military Services, said:

“The live stream of the John Angotti and Friends Family Concert is one of many worthwhile elements now available to U.S. servicemen and women and their families on the new AMS app, AMS Catholic Faith Deployed, accessible on iTunes and designed for use on both iPads and iPhones anywhere in the world.

“The app allows the Archdiocese to employ new methods of evangelization which offer immediate access to seasonal prayers, video retreats, and other Faith-based content; and in keeping with the Holy Father’s purpose in giving us the Year of Faith, the app provides a searchable data base of the Catechism and the documents of Vatican II to help all those serving rediscover the gift of Catholicism. The AMS is pleased also to partner with UpWord Studios to bring beautiful live Christmas music on the app to the men and women in uniform who serve our country.”

Fred Fosnacht, Founder UpWord Studios, said:

“We want to bring hope, we want to bring faith, we want to bring Christ to our troops, and connect them to us. And every once in a while, an event like the John Angotti concert enables us to connect globally and share the same experience. I know from other Angotti concerts, this will be a great experience!”

The live video stream of the concert is open to the public by visiting or by downloading the free AMS Catholic Faith Deployed app on iTunes.

About Archdiocese for the Military Services

The Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) was created as an independent archdiocese by Pope John Paul II in 1985 as the only Catholic jurisdiction responsible for endorsing and granting faculties for priests to serve as chaplains in the U.S. military and VA Medical Centers. AMS-endorsed priests serve at more than 220 U.S. military installations in 29 countries, making the AMS the nation’s only global archdiocese. AMS-endorsed chaplains also serve at 153 VA Medical Centers throughout the U.S. The AMS service population also includes American Catholic civilians working for the federal government in 134 countries, but currently, due to limited resources, the AMS cannot adequately serve this population. Worldwide, an estimated 1.8 million Catholics depend on the AMS to meet their spiritual and sacramental needs. About John Angotti Music Mission

John Angotti ( was raised in Clarksburg, West Virginia; a small community nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Third in a family of four adopted children (with an older brother and two sisters), John’s first ability to speak without stuttering was at the age of four when he sang the hymn “The Church’s One Foundation.” How appropriate for the mission God has planned for him thus far! An accomplished and superb pianist, John began studying piano at the age of seven. His mother, who has been a church musician for over 50 years, motivated him to become involved with church music at a very early age through the children’s choir at church. “I believe it was there at that age where I truly began to form my beliefs about God through the songs we were singing,” Angotti says. In 1995 John signed a distribution deal with World Library Publications (WLP) in Chicago, Illinois. There he met Father Jim Marchionda, OP, a Dominican preacher who was also a composer for WLP. Father Jim invited John to be the accompanist for him at some Christian workshops at the Los Angeles Religious Education Conference. He also let John be involved in the workshops, explaining how to combine old, traditional hymns with the new stylistic rhythms and give new spirit to what could be considered a “boring” hymn to a young generation. At that moment, Angotti began to see the plan unfolding.
