EMMITSBURG, MD. – The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton welcomed more than four hundred visitors Sunday for its annual Pilgrimage for the Sea Services. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is the Patroness of the Sea Services, which include the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and Public Health Service. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. (EDST) on Sept. 4, 2018, for Father Vincent R. Capodanno, MM, United States Navy Chaplain and Vietnam War hero, on the 51st anniversary of his death on a Vietnam battlefield. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the United States Military Services, will be the main celebrant and homilist at the Mass, which will be held in the Crypt of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue Northeast, Washington, D.C. 20017.
