MENLO PARK, CA – Nineteen men are gathered here this weekend for a March 31-April 3 discernment retreat aimed at helping them discern if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and U.S. Military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the retreat at St. Patrick’s Seminary in hopes of relieving a chronic shortage of Catholic priests on active duty. CINCINNATI, OH — Twelve men will gather here this weekend for an October 21-24 discernment retreat aimed at helping them decide if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and U.S. Military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the retreat at Mount St. Mary’s of the West Seminary. The prospective chaplain candidates include seven civilians along with two men now serving in the Air Force, one in the Army, one in the Navy, and one enrolled in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). WASHINGTON, DC — Thirteen men from many service branches of the United States Armed Forces will gather here this weekend for a June 24-27 discernment retreat aimed at helping them determine if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the semi-annual retreat at Theological College, the national seminary of the Catholic University of America. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, (AMS), is conducting the annual retreat Oct. 17-20 at St. Joseph’s Seminary. Among the prospective chaplain candidates are more than a dozen men already serving in the United States Military, including nine from the Navy, four from the Air Force, one from the Army, and one from the Marines.
