WASHINGTON, D.C. – A charity team of 25 runners representing the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), in the 41st Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) and 10K on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, surpassed its goal of raising $60,000 for the Archdiocese thanks in large part to an online matching gift challenge made possible by an anonymous donor.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Catholics will have a rare opportunity this weekend to support the pastoral care for their brothers and sisters, the faithful, in the United States Military and the nation’s Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers. A special collection will be taken up in parishes nationwide for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS).
While nothing we do could compensate for the loss experienced by family members, this reflection explores how a well-executed and honorable funeral and burial service not only provide great comfort and support to the families but are also works of mercy.
