Archbishop Broglio to Preach Homily on 75th Anniversary of Ultimate Sacrifice Paid by the Heroic “Four Chaplains”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the Military Services, USA, will be the principal celebrant and homilist at a Mass this weekend to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the heroic deaths of the “Four Chaplains” killed aboard the U.S. Army transport ship USAT Dorchester in the North Atlantic Ocean during World War Two. The Mass will be celebrated at noon (EST) on Feb. 4 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 676 Kearny   Avenue, in Kearny, New Jersey, where one of the chaplains, Father John P. Washington, served from 1937 to 1942.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today marks the tenth anniversary of His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio’s installation as Archbishop of the Military Services, USA. Archbishop Broglio was installed on Jan. 25, 2008, by the late Most Rev. Pietro Sambi, then Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Active-Duty Couples Invited to Register for First-Ever Catholic Marriage Enrichment Retreat

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS) is now taking registrations for its first-ever Catholic Marriage Enrichment Retreat. The retreat, for active duty couples who have been married at least two years, will be held Feb. 16-18, 2018, at the Bon Secours Retreat House in Marriottsville, Md., a 300-acre pastoral setting with abundant spaces for reflection, both indoors and outdoors.

Time Running Out to Apply for 2018 “Warriors to Lourdes” Spiritual Journey

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Time is running out for U.S. Military personnel, including the wounded, ill, and injured, to apply for an all-expenses-paid, round-trip journey to the Marian grotto and spring baths at Lourdes, France, during the 60th annual Pèlerinage Militaire International (PMI)—or “International Military Pilgrimage”—May 15 to 22, 2018.  All applications must be received no later than Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.
