SAN DIEGO, CA – Nearly four dozen active-duty Catholic military chaplains and other priests in service to the United States Military are gathered in San Diego this week for the first of four biennial convocations being held across the nation and in Rome over the next three months under the direction of His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. ANCHORAGE, AK – Father Madison Hayes, 2d Lt, USAFR, a candidate for United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, in Anchorage, AK. He plans eventually to serve on active duty as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new priest celebrated his first post-ordination Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Eagle River, AK.

WASHINGTON, DC – The annual Memorial Mass for Father Vincent R. Capodanno, MM, United States Navy Chaplain and Vietnam War hero, will be celebrated on Sept. 7, 2021, at 6:30 p,m. EDT in the Crypt Church the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. GREEN BAY, WI – Father Patrick G. Costello, LT, USNR, a 2013 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a candidate for U.S. Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Saturday, July 3, in Green Bay, WI. He hopes eventually to serve as a Navy chaplain with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new priest plans to go on active duty following a three-year period of pastoral service in his home Diocese of Green Bay under the co-sponsorship agreement between the Diocese and the AMS.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It’s official: the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), has a new Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia. On Thursday, July 1, 2021, Monsignor Jeffrey G. Laible of the Diocese of Peoria, IL, made the requisite Profession of Faith and Oath of Fidelity as he assumes the new role. He succeeds Monsignor John J.M. Foster, J.C.D., who is returning to his home Diocese of Stockton, CA, to serve as pastor of the Cathedral of the Annunciation following eight years of productive service to the AMS.
