WASHINGTON, DC — Since “Giving Tuesday”—Dec. 3—the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), has raised more than $80,000 through the 501(c)(3) organization, #iGiveCatholic. The funds, donated by hundreds of generous benefactors, will support AMS ministry to Catholics in all branches of the United States Military.
The Reverend Mr. Paul Collins, LT, USNR, a candidate for Catholic priesthood and United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a transitional deacon on Saturday, Nov. 23.
AMS set new records Saturday evening for both attendance and giving at its 16th Annual Benefit. Archbishop Broglio hosted a record 383 guests at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Northeast Washington, raising $513,000 for the Archdiocese.

AMS welcomed more than one dozen military couples to Nemi, Italy, this past weekend for the AMS Catholic Marriage Enrichment Retreat. Archbishop Broglio took part in the Oct. 18-20 retreat.
WASHINGTON, DC — Father Robert R. Cannon is now “the Reverend Monsignor” Robert R. Cannon. The Holy See recently bestowed the honorary ecclesiastical title on the retired U.S. Air Force chaplain and former chancellor of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), for exceptional service to the Catholic Church. Msgr. Cannon stepped down as AMS chancellor last month after eight years of service to pursue a doctorate in canon law. He has been succeeded as chancellor by retired U.S. Army Colonel Anita Raines.
