WASHINGTON, D.C. — Happy birthday to the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). On Tuesday, July 21, the AMS turns 41! The AMS is celebrating on Tuesday with a Day of Giving.

Please consider joining the celebration anytime that day by sending a gift to givingday.milarch.org.

Proceeds will support AMS Young Adult Ministry, particularly Team Saint Paul (TSP), a growing group of Catholic evangelizers sent by the AMS to accompany young adult servicemen and women, ages 18-29, on their journey of Christian discipleship at the installations where they serve.

Thanks to generous benefactors, the first $58,000 in gifts will be matched dollar for dollar. Gifts will support TSP members currently serving at, or soon to be assigned to, Travis Air Force Base, CA, Fort Campbell, KY, and Camp Lejeune, NC.

The AMS receives no funding from the military or the government. Nor does it have parishes to take up weekly collections, since Catholic Liturgy on military installations is celebrated in non-denominational chapels where a percentage of the collection cannot be reserved for the AMS. The AMS depends entirely on private giving for support. Your donation to givingday.milarch.org will be greatly appreciated as the AMS embarks on the next 41 years, serving those who serve.
