Archbishop Broglio to Celebrate Memorial Mass on May 20 at National Shrine

Service to honor U.S. military members, living and dead

Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio distributes communion at the 23rd annual Memorial Mass in May of 2017 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS) has announced the time and date for its 24th annual Memorial Mass. The Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. (EDST) on Sunday, May 20, 2018, in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue, Northeast in Washington, D.C.

His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the Military Services, will be the principal celebrant and homilist, with dozens of priests and U.S. Military chaplains concelebrating and deacons assisting.

The opening procession will follow a 15-minute musical prelude beginning at 4:15 p.m. The Memorial Mass is open to the public. The media are welcomed to cover the Mass.
