WASHINGTON, DC – Very soon, for the first time ever, U.S. Military Catholics from around the country will convene to reflect prayerfully on military service from the perspective of Catholic moral teaching. The national gathering comes amid simmering conflicts, tensions, and anxieties, both at home and abroad, as the Nation’s Finest deploy to keep the peace and maintain global order.
The inaugural Catholic Military Conference—the first-ever national conference for Catholic service members, veterans, and their families—will take place Nov. 9-11, 2026, at the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles in Chantilly, VA. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the Military Services, USA (AMS), will host the three-day event, which will offer “presentations on the spiritual and moral dimensions of military service, Just War tradition, strengthening marriage in military life, and more.”
In a recent letter to Catholic military chaplains, Archbishop Broglio noted: “As you well know, the men and women who fight our country’s wars, and their family members who serve on the home front, must have an opportunity to reflect upon and pray about military service within the context of the Catholic faith. Not only is military service a vocation, but also within the wounds that come from military service, whether moral or physical, our Lord seeks to bring healing and renewal. This conference will provide that opportunity.”
Archbishop Broglio will speak and celebrate daily Mass, including on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Other speakers will include Dr. Joseph Capizzi, Ph.D., a moral theologian and McGrath-Cavadini Director of the University of Notre Dame’s McGrath Institute for Church Life; Ms. Katie McGrady, Catholic author, international speaker, and host of the podcast Ave Explores; Father Peter Pomposello, CH (MAJ), USA; Lt. Gen. John Wissler, USMC (Ret.); Father Chris Kroll, S.J.; Lt. Gen. James Dubik, Ph.D., USA (Ret.); Catholic author and international speaker Mary Lenaburg and her husband Jerry, hosts of the marriage enrichment podcast Mary & Jerry; and others soon to be announced.
Registration is now open. Early Bird registration tickets are available to actively serving members of the military and their spouses for $350 and to military retirees, veterans, and civilians for $400. This is a $75 discount to general admission tickets. There is also a VIP ticket available which offers many special features including a private reception with Archbishop Broglio.
