Chrism Mass

2022 Archdiocesan Chrism Mass

Each year Archbishop Timothy Broglio concelebrates with his priests the Chrism Mass, during which the priests renew their commitment and the oils intended for sacramental use on military installations and in VA medical centers served by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA are blessed and consecrated.

The Chrism Mass is open to the public, and the faithful of the Archdiocese are encouraged to participate. Please view the visitor guidelines for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, in Washington, DC.

Priests in the Washington area are invited to concelebrate the Chrism Mass and to join Archbishop Broglio for dinner after the Mass. Please complete the registration form for the Mass and dinner no later than March 28, 2022.

Registration for the Chrism Mass is closed at this time.

The sacred oils consecrated and blessed by Archbishop Broglio can be either picked up after the Chrism Mass or shipped to an installation. Please complete the order form for the sacred oils no later than March 28, 2022.

Note: Those who attempt to complete the Oil Request Form on a government computer may experience difficulty. Please attempt to complete the form on a personal computer.
