Four Corporate Sponsors Now Backing Team AMS in 2018 Army Ten-Miler

But… more support needed with annual footrace just two months off

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Oct. 7, 2018 “Army Ten-Miler,” an annual fall footrace through the streets of the nation’s capital, is just two months off, and charity “Team AMS” now has four corporate sponsors supporting its drive to raise at least $60,000 for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Virginia State Division, has put $2,000 behind Team AMS. The National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) and Waldorf Risk Solutions have each donated $1,500, and Catholicquiz.com, $500, for a total of $5,500, so far, in corporate sponsorships.

Team AMS, comprising up to 50 volunteer runners, will run the ten-mile course not only for fun and exercise, but also to raise awareness and financial support for the Archdiocese and its mission “Serving Those Who Serve.” Specifically, proceeds will support pastoral care for Catholics in the U.S. Military and those receiving treatment in the nation’s Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers or working as civilians for the federal government beyond U.S. borders, along with the families of these populations.

Each Team AMS runner will be provided with a unique fundraising web page and encouraged to raise at least $750 from friends and family beyond what the team as a whole raises in corporate sponsorships. But with time running short, Team AMS still needs corporate support to reach its $60,000 goal. Corporate sponsorship levels are as follows:

  • Archbishop Sponsor: $5,500;
  • Global Sponsor: $4,500;
  • Veteran Sponsor: $3,500;
  • Active Duty Sponsor: $2,500;
  • Mission Sponsor: $1,500;
  • Service Sponsor: $500.
