Prospective U.S. Navy Chaplain Ordained a Priest in Stockbridge, Massachusetts

STOCKBRIDGE, MA – Father Matthew Tomeny, MIC, LTJG, USNR, a candidate for active-duty U.S. Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021—the Feast of St. John the Evangelist—in Stockbridge, MA. He hopes eventually to serve as a Catholic Navy chaplain with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new priest plans to go on active duty following a three-year period of pastoral service in his religious community, the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception (the Marians), under a co-sponsorship agreement between the Marians and the AMS.

Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio Consecrates and Blesses Sacramental Oils at Socially-Distanced Chrism Mass

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Sacred oils for sacramental and ecclesiastical use over the coming year on U.S. military sites worldwide and in the nation’s VA Medical Centers were blessed and consecrated Tuesday evening during a socially-distanced gathering at the annual Chrism Mass of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). Attendance was limited to no more than 60 members of the public due to crowd size restrictions imposed by the District of Columbia during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. BOSTON – The Reverend Mr. David Campo, LTJG, USN, a candidate for the Catholic priesthood and United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a transitional deacon on Saturday, Oct. 24, in Boston, MA. He plans eventually to serve as a Catholic chaplain in the U.S. Navy with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new deacon is on track to be ordained a priest next year and hopes to go on active duty following a three-year period of pastoral service in his home Archdiocese of Boston.

Archbishop Timothy Broglio Celebrates Combined Memorial/Father Capodanno Mass

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D., Archbishop for the Military Services, USA, celebrated the combined annual Memorial Mass for all who serve or have served in the U.S. Military, and the Memorial Mass for Vietnam War hero Father Vincent R.
