Final Tally: U.S. Military Catholics Donate $118,380 to Hurricane Relief

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholics in the United States Military over the past few months have donated a total of $118,380.03 in relief to victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Catholic military chaplains, serving with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), took up the donations at military installations worldwide, in general by means of a designated offering at the Sunday Mass.

Catholic Priests to Gather in Washington to Discern Possible “Vocation Within a Vocation” as U.S. Military Chaplains

WASHINGTON, D.C. – More than a half-dozen Catholic priests from around the nation will gather in Washington, D.C., in June for a five-day discernment retreataimed at helping them determine if they are called to the “vocation within a vocation” to serve as U.S. Military chaplains. The all-expenses-paid retreat, “For God and Country: a Call to Serve Those Who Serve,” is the fourth of its kind to be sponsored by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), since 2015.

South Korea-Based Catholic U.S. Military Couples and Families Gather for Reflection on Faith

SEOUL, South Korea – Catholic married couples and families in service to the U.S. Military in South Korea are taking a deeper look at their faith lives this week in two separate gatherings organized with the support and cooperation of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). On Wednesday night, April 4, Dr. Mark Moitoza, AMS Vice-Chancellor of Evangelization, facilitated a marriage enrichment session for couples at the United States Army Garrison (USAG) Yongsan Memorial Chapel in Seoul. Meanwhile, nearly 30 miles southeast of that location, a Catholic Family Retreat will be held this weekend at the Yongmun Youth Camp.
