“Lent calls us to reflect on the goodness and mercy of Almighty God and our response. We do penance to clear away what impedes our contemplation of divine love and to create a hunger for everlasting life. We dedicate more time to prayer and the sacraments to hear the Lord’s call to the fullness of life. We are inspired to recognize our role in the renewal of society and the world.”
