Protecting God’s Children in the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA
The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS) refers to and cooperates fully with the diocese of incardination or religious community and with appropriate military and civilian law enforcement when any misconduct complaints of sexual abuse against a priest-chaplain or deacon are received.
Archbishop Timothy Broglio has promulgated the Archdiocese’s Policy to Address Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. This Policy is reviewed annually by the Archdiocesan Review Board and follows the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People and Essential Norms. The Archdiocese for the Military Services provides assistance to anyone who, as a minor, was sexually abused by a priest, deacon or employee serving in the Archdiocese. Parents, guardians, children, and survivors of sexual abuse are invited and encouraged to contact AMS for more information about this program. For the purposes of this Policy, the definition of “minor” incorporates the Charter’s definition of any person who is under eighteen years of age, or who “habitually lacks the use of reason.”
