WASHINGTON, DC — Since “Giving Tuesday”—Dec. 3—the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), has raised more than $80,000 through the 501(c)(3) organization, #iGiveCatholic. The funds, donated by hundreds of generous benefactors, will support AMS ministry to Catholics in all branches of the United States Military.
“Giving Tuesday” is a global day of generosity that takes place in the U.S. each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. #iGiveCatholic is a bishop-led initiative in collaboration with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and dozens of individual dioceses to bring the Catholic community together to inspire and support generosity on Giving Tuesday.
Benefactors may still give to the AMS at www.milarch.org/donate.
So far, 288 generous donors have contributed $81,965 to the AMS through #iGiveCatholic on Giving Tuesday. The collection includes a dollar-for-dollar matching gift of $12,500 from two generous benefactors in particular, and the Open Gate Catholic Community in Kuwait, raising a total of $25,000 for AMS Vocations alone. AMS Director of Advancement Salvador (Sal) Perez extended his “heartfelt gratitude” to the magnanimous donors who have contributed in support of the AMS mission, Serving Those Who Serve.
