Prospective Catholic U.S. Navy Chaplain Ordained a Priest in Lincoln, NE

LINCOLN, NE – Father Liam O’Shea-Creal, a candidate for United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Saturday, May 28, in Lincoln, NE. He plans eventually to serve as a Catholic chaplain in the U.S. Navy with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). His intention is to go on active duty following a three-year period of pastoral service in his home Diocese of Lincoln under a co-sponsorship agreement between the Diocese and the AMS.

Two Prospective Catholic U.S. Navy Chaplains Ordained Transitional Deacons in Arlington, VA

ARLINGTON, VA — The Reverend Mr. Michael T. Nugent and the Rev. Mr. Charles C. Wilton were ordained transitional deacons on Saturday, April 23, in a solemn Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington, VA. MENLO PARK, CA – Nineteen men are gathered here this weekend for a March 31-April 3 discernment retreat aimed at helping them discern if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and U.S. Military chaplains. Twelve Men Gather for Discernment Retreat on Possible Vocations as U.S. Military Chaplains

CINCINNATI, OH — Twelve men will gather here this weekend for an October 21-24 discernment retreat aimed at helping them decide if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and U.S. Military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the retreat at Mount St. Mary’s of the West Seminary. The prospective chaplain candidates include seven civilians along with two men now serving in the Air Force, one in the Army, one in the Navy, and one enrolled in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).

Archbishop Broglio Shares Disappointment of Faithful over U.S. Navy Shutdown of Catholic Chapel-Based Programs in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – Respecting the COVID-imposed restrictive social distancing, the faithful filled the chapel at the San Diego Naval Station (32nd Street) two times on Sunday, Sept. 26, to mark the end of an era. ANCHORAGE, AK – Father Madison Hayes, 2d Lt, USAFR, a candidate for United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, in Anchorage, AK. WASHINGTON, DC — Thirteen men from many service branches of the United States Armed Forces will gather here this weekend for a June 24-27 discernment retreat aimed at helping them determine if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the semi-annual retreat at Theological College, the national seminary of the Catholic University of America. The prospective chaplain candidates include three now serving in the Army, two in the Marine Corps, one in the Navy, two in the Air Force, and five civilians.
