Catholic U.S. Navy Chaplain Candidate Ordained a Priest in Arlington, VA

ARLINGTON, VA – Father Peter J. St. George, LTJG, USNR, a candidate for the United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a priest on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Arlington, VA. He hopes eventually to serve as a Catholic chaplain in the U.S. Navy with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new priest plans to go on active duty following a three-year period of pastoral service in his home Diocese of Arlington under a co-sponsorship agreement with the AMS. In his first assignment, he will serve as parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria.

Catholic U.S. Air Force Chaplain Candidate Ordained a Transitional Deacon in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH – The Reverend Mr. Stephen J. Hughes, 2d Lt, USAF, a candidate for the Catholic priesthood and United States military chaplaincy, was ordained a transitional deacon on Saturday, April 23, in his home Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Nineteen Men Gather for Discernment Retreat on Possible Vocations as U.S. Military Chaplains

MENLO PARK, CA – Nineteen men are gathered here this weekend for a March 31-April 3 discernment retreat aimed at helping them discern if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and U.S. Military chaplains. Archbishop Broglio to Join Pope Francis in Consecrating Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This coming Friday, March 25—the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Blessed Mother—Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The consecration will take place during a penitential celebration presided over by the pope in St. Peter’s Basilica at 5:00 p.m. Rome time.

The Bishop of Rome has invited all bishops and priests throughout the world to join him in the consecration preferably at the same hour. In union with the pope, His Excellency, the Most Reverend Timothy P. Catholic Cadets and Midshipmen Strive to Know Christ and Fulfill His Great Commission Through SEEK22

DENVER, CO — Some of the nation’s best and brightest future military leaders were among more than 22,000 people from 20 countries to encounter Christ during SEEK22 (seek.focus.org), a hybrid, immersive broadcast hosted by FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) over the weekend of Feb. 4-6. Clergy, parishioners, college students, and benefactors explored the Gospel and the call to missionary discipleship in local and regional gatherings. They included a gathering of 80 midshipmen at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church near the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and 25 Air Force cadets at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, CO, not far from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Additionally, more than 80 Cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy at New London, CT, will hold a similar gathering around recordings of the broadcast this coming weekend in Norwalk, CT.
