Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio Consecrates and Blesses Sacramental Oils at Socially-Distanced Chrism Mass

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Sacred oils for sacramental and ecclesiastical use over the coming year on U.S. military sites worldwide and in the nation’s VA Medical Centers were blessed and consecrated Tuesday evening during a socially-distanced gathering at the annual Chrism Mass of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). Attendance was limited to no more than 60 members of the public due to crowd size restrictions imposed by the District of Columbia during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. SALUTE Magazine Takes Top Honor in 2020 International Catholic Press Awards

WASHINGTON, DC – SALUTE, the hard-copy news magazine published quarterly by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA(AMS), has been honored with a first-place certificate in the 2020 Catholic Press Awards, sponsored by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada. The judge’s panel, which consists of media and academic professionals, deemed the Summer 2019 edition’s color cover (pictured) the year’s best for a small-size magazine, earning SALUTEthe top honor in the “Best Cover for Color” category. The award citation recognizes SALUTE Editor Jo Ann Redmond for her outstanding work. Continue reading
