Archbishop Broglio to Celebrate Memorial Mass THIS COMING SUNDAY at National Shrine

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), will hold its 23rd annual Memorial Mass at 4:30 p.m. (EDST) on Sunday, May 21, 2017, in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue, Northeast, in Washington, D.C. Deadline EXTENDED to Register for First-Ever National Conference for Catholic Young Adults in U.S. Military

NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS—The original deadline of May 12 has been extended to May 26 to register for Serving as a Missionary Disciple, the first-ever international conference held specifically for Catholic young adults in the U.S. Military. WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), launched a new podcast called Catholic Military Life. The podcast, featuring recorded audio conversations with chaplains and others involved with pastoral care to those who serve, will appear in regular episodes on the AMS website, its Facebook page, and external sites such as SoundCloud and PodOmatic.

MCCW Receives Koch Foundation Grant

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Military Council of Catholic Women (MCCW) has been awarded a $13,000 grant from the Koch Foundation. The grant will be used to train military-affiliated women in evangelization and leader development.

Wanted: 50 Runners to Join Team AMS in October 2017 Army Ten-Miler

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), needs 50 volunteer runners to join her charity team in this year’s Army Ten-Miler on Oct. 8 in Washington, D.C. The Archdiocese is counting on Team AMS to raise $60,000 in charitable donations to support vocations, evangelization, and other religious programs for Catholic families in the United States Military, veterans hospitalized in the nation’s VA Medical Centers, and civilians working for the federal government beyond U.S. borders. Young Adults and Families in U.S. Military Gain Access to New Online Course in Evangelization and Faith Formation

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Starting this Lent, military young adults and families, Hispanic and faithful of all cultures will have a new online resource for learning about their faith, developing spirituality, and preparing to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is offering, in collaboration with the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF), a FREE course called Missionary Disciples: Witnesses of God’s Love.
