ANCHORAGE, AK – Father Madison Hayes, 2d Lt, USAFR, a candidate for United States Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, in Anchorage, AK. He plans eventually to serve on active duty as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The new priest celebrated his first post-ordination Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Eagle River, AK.

Prospective U.S. Navy Chaplain Ordained a Priest in Green Bay, Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, WI – Father Patrick G. Costello, LT, USNR, a 2013 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a candidate for U.S. Military chaplaincy, was ordained a Catholic priest on Saturday, July 3, in Green Bay, WI. He hopes eventually to serve as a Navy chaplain with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). Thirteen Men Gather for Discernment Retreat on Possible Vocations as U.S. Military Chaplains

WASHINGTON, DC — Thirteen men from many service branches of the United States Armed Forces will gather here this weekend for a June 24-27 discernment retreat aimed at helping them determine if they are called by the Holy Spirit to be Catholic priests and military chaplains. The Vocations Office of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS), is holding the semi-annual retreat at Theological College, the national seminary of the Catholic University of America. The prospective chaplain candidates include three now serving in the Army, two in the Marine Corps, one in the Navy, two in the Air Force, and five civilians.

FORTH WORTH, TX — Father Jason Allan, a prospective Catholic U.S. Navy chaplain, was ordained a priest on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in a solemn Mass at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in Arlington, TX. Having completed his priestly formation at Theological College in Washington, DC—the national seminary of The Catholic University of America—Father Allan, 27, is on track to go on active duty with endorsement and faculties from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). Under the terms of the co-sponsorship agreement between the AMS and Father Allan’s home Diocese of Forth Worth, he will be eligible for military service after an initial three year period of pastoral work in Texas.
